An abyssal head is a very rare drop from Abyssal demons and their superior counterpart, which requires 85 Slayer to kill. Players may also obtain an abyssal head by placing an unsired at the Font of Consumption; this has a 5/64 chance, and as an unsired is a 1/100 drop, this effectively makes it a 1/1,280 drop per Abyssal Sire kill.
It can be combined with a slayer helmet or slayer helmet (i) to create a red slayer helmet or red slayer helmet (i), respectively. Doing so requires purchasing the ability Unholy helmet for 1,000 slayer reward points.
It can also be mounted in a Skill Hall in a player-owned house. Before it can be mounted, it must be stuffed by the Taxidermist in Canifis, where she will charge 12,000 coins and return a stuffed abyssal head to the player. They can then mount the head using 2 mahogany planks. When players take it to the Taxidermist, she will exclaim "Goodness, an abyssal demon! See how it's still glowing? I'll have to use some magic to preserve that."
The head can also be sacrificed to the Dark Altar north of Arceuus, granting 2,500 Prayer experience. This does not require any favour.
