Adamant dragon/Strategies
After completion of Dragon Slayer II, Adamant Dragons make residence in the Lithkren Vault and can be fought. They are the second strongest metal dragons, so caution should be exercised at all times.
Attacks[edit | edit source]
Adamant dragons have multiple attacks, similar to mithril and rune dragons. Along with standard dragonfire attacks, they have a standard melee, ranged and magic attack (which resembles Earth Wave), as well as two unique attacks.
- The first attack is a poison projectile, which lands on the player's position and splits into two more projectiles around the original projectile in a 5x5 area. These projectiles can hit from 14-25, but can be reduced to 4-8 by being under the effect of any poison protection. Players can avoid the attack entirely by moving three squares away from their original position when the attack was launched.
- The second attack is a Ranged attack that hits through Protect from Missiles, and uses the Blood Forfeit effect from enchanted ruby bolts, where the dragon sacrifices 10% of its current hitpoints to deal damage equal to 20% of the player's current hitpoints. Because of this effect, it is recommended to keep the player's hitpoints around 40-50 to minimise the damage dealt from this attack.
Transportation[edit | edit source]
The fastest way to get there is by using a Digsite Pendant teleport to Lithkren Vault directly. An alternative route is using a Digsite Pendant teleport to Fossil Island, using the magic mushtree to Mushroom Meadow, travelling south-west to the shore and taking the boat to the Lithkren island and entering the vault.
Suggested skills[edit | edit source]
Equipment[edit | edit source]
With base 90 Melee stats and a Ghrazi rapier or Dragon hunter lance, using melee against adamant dragons is a reliable option. With worse weapons, magic or ranged may be more effective. Adamant Dragons have accurate and strong attacks, so Bandos, Justiciar or Barrows equipment is recommended along with Protect from Magic and Piety in tandem to reduce damage taken. Also, Vengeance can be used for dealing with their Blood Forfeit Ranged attacks. As soon as a number appears in a purple hitsplat on the dragon, prepare Vengeance.

- 1 Divine super combat potion, Super combat potion or Super set
- 1 Extended super antifire or Extended antifire if using Dragonfire shield
- 3-4 Prayer potions
- 1-2 Antidote++s, Antidote+s, Superantipoison or Antipoison if you are not using a Serpentine helm
- Rune pouch with runes to cast Vengeance or High Level Alchemy (Set warning value to 162,000.) (optional)
- One-click teleport (optional)
- Food (Sharks / Manta rays / Anglerfish / Karambwan)
- Bracelet of slaughter (optional if on task)
With level 90 Ranged and a dragon hunter crossbow, Adamant dragons can easily be killed due to the crossbow's passive effect, as well as circumventing their melee attack. Armadyl or Karil's equipment is recommended along with Protect from Missiles and Rigour or Eagle Eye in tandem. Also, Vengeance could be used for dealing with their Blood Forfeit Ranged attacks, which hits through Protect from Missiles. As soon as a number appears in a purple hitsplat on the dragon, prepare Vengeance.

Adamant dragons have a relatively low magic defence. While this method is not as effective as using dragonbane weaponry, such as the dragon hunter lance or the dragon hunter crossbow, people who can either not afford such items, or cannot easily obtain them because they are playing on an ironman, Magic can be a viable alternative, especially on a slayer task.
