Ash pile

Ash piles can be found throughout the Fossil Island Volcano, and can be mined with level 22 Mining, granting 10 experience. When mined, they can produce soda ash and volcanic ash.

Unlike other ore rocks, ash piles can be mined several times before being depleted. After being mined, ash piles take around 30 seconds to respawn.

Players cannot receive unidentified fossils from mining ash piles. However, they can still receive clue geodes and the rock golem.

Yield[edit | edit source]

The amount of ash obtained is scaled to the player's Mining level, starting with one ash at level 22 and increasing by one for every 15 levels above 22, to a maximum of six ash at 97 (boosts can be used). Mining gloves, Varrock armour of any tier, and the Mining cape do not affect the yield when mining volcanic ash.[1]

Mining Level Ash Obtained
22 1
37 2
52 3
67 4
82 5
