Ava is a scientist, residing in the secret room of Draynor Manor, at the south-west part behind the hidden door next to the bookcase. She works as the assistant to Professor Oddenstein, after the incident where Ernest was accidentally polymorphed. As part of her research, she created a device which retrieves used ammunition and other metal items. However, lacking the required materials to make the device, she enlisted the help of a passing adventurer to gather its components. Afterwards, she rewards the player with an attractor. She returns lost devices for a fee of 999 coins.
Ava can upgrade the attractor to an accumulator for 75 steel arrows, provided the player's Ranged level is at least 50. The accumulator is automatically given if the player meets its requirements when Animal Magnetism is completed.
She also plays a small role in Dragon Slayer II, where the player enlists her help to locate one of the dragon key pieces. After giving the player a locator orb, Ava mentions she can upgrade the accumulator even further, provided she manages to obtain something "a bit more undead". Upgrading the accumulator to an assembler requires Vorkath's head (which can only be obtained by killing Vorkath after completion of Dragon Slayer II) and 75 mithril arrows.
Ava also runs a small shop, Ava's Odds and Ends, once Animal Magnetism is completed. This is handy if a player needs to quickly buy the 75 steel arrows needed to upgrade the device.
