Ava's attractor detail.png

Ava's attractor is an item awarded to the player by completing the quest Animal Magnetism if the player is below level 50 Ranged. It is equipped in the cape slot, can pick up a player's ranged ammunition after they fire it, and can randomly attract an assortment of items such as arrows, bolts, darts, knives and iron ore. It also provides a ranged attack bonus. It can also generate iron arrows into the player's ammo slot if it's empty or there are iron arrows in it. Like all of Ava's devices, the attractor won't work when metal torso armour is worn, as this will cause 'interference'. Varrock armour and 3rd age platebody do not interfere with Ava's attractor.

Ava will upgrade it to Ava's accumulator after the Animal Magnetism quest, provided the player has 50 Ranged. 75 steel arrows must also be paid to Ava.

Players can commune with the attractor to stop it from gathering junk by right-clicking on the item while it is worn or in the inventory.

Ammo recovery rate[edit | edit source]

The breakdown of the ammo recovery rate is as listed:

  • Break on impact: 20%
  • Drop onto floor: 20%
  • Recovered automatically: 60%

Cost saving benefits[edit | edit source]

The ammo retention of the accumulator is more significant than it may initially seem. Using an infinite series, we can calculate the average number of shots you will fire per each ammo that you purchase.

So for each ammo purchased, you get roughly 2.5 shots fired, assuming the player is not picking up ammunition that falls onto the ground. This, in effect, means that ammunition costs two and a half times less. Comparatively, Ava's Accumulator, which has a 72% ammo retention rate fired 3.57 per ammunition purchased. Note that if the player elects to pick-up ammunition that fall on the ground they will achieve the same rate as using an Assembler, cutting costs at the expense of more interaction.
