Notable quests[edit | edit source]

Because of experience rewards some quests provide, some quests need to be completed before training some combat skills, in order to not overshoot in specific stats and therefore obtain a higher than desirable combat level, or lock yourself out of certain content. Doing all of the quests below will leave you at 44 defence with 4875 experience left until 45 that can be freely trained on your own, while also giving you access to the maximum amount of content able to be completed on a 45 defence account.

Training methods[edit | edit source]

For more information, see Pay-to-play melee training.

Most berserker pures focus on training Strength to between 90-99 and Attack to between 60-99, as well as Magic to 94 to use Vengeance. It should be noted that the majority of med-high level melee weaponry can be wielded at level 75 Attack.

For the most part, berserker pures use very similar melee training methods as main accounts. They are also notably one of the few PvP builds that are practical to train Slayer with, and thus may use Slayer-specific equipment such as leaf-bladed weapons.

Strategies[edit | edit source]

When PKing on this build, it is important to know when to cast Vengeance, use a spec weapon, and eat food/drink potions.

Vengeance timing[edit | edit source]

Vengeance is a level 94 spell on the Lunar spellbook which rebounds 75% of the damage of the next hit back to one's opponent. Not having the ability to cast it puts you at a major disadvantage against people who do. To maximize its utility, use it when you think your opponent is going to do a lot of damage, such as with a special attack.

Special attack[edit | edit source]

If used correctly, your special attack weapon has the potential to do a lot of damage to your opponent in little time. Use it when your opponent is on low health, but be careful of rebounded Vengeance damage. It is a common tactic to use a special attack immediately after casting Vengeance.

If a weapon uses less than 100% special attack energy, it is considered a bad move to use all of your energy in one go (otherwise known as "dumping spec"). It may be wiser to use it strategically throughout the fight.

Eating[edit | edit source]

To state the obvious, one should eat when their health is low and drink when their boosts/prayer are depleted. Eating cancels one's attack, so click back on your opponent immediately after doing so.
