A bird's egg can be obtained by a bird nest that falls out of trees while Woodcutting. They can come in three different colours: green, blue and red which represent the colours of Guthix, Saradomin and Zamorak, respectively.

These eggs can be offered to the shrine in the Woodcutting Guild to receive 100 Prayer experience and a Bird nest with seeds as a reward. There is a 1/300 chance of obtaining any one piece of the evil chicken outfit when offering eggs. Each individual piece of the outfit has a 1/1200 chance. Before this update, the eggs had no use.[1]

Considering the value of pieces of evil chicken outfit and the chances of obtaining one as well as the nest from the shrine, the average value of one egg is 14,434.

The chances of getting a bird nest from a tree is 1/256 when chopping any type of tree. When a player receives a nest the chance of the nest containing a bird's egg is 3/100 (each colour egg being 1/100). When wearing a strung rabbit foot the chances are increased slightly to 3/95[2] by decreasing the chance of getting seeds.
