Bob is the owner of Bob's Brilliant Axes in southern Lumbridge. Players can pay Bob to repair damaged Barrows equipment. However, many players prefer to repair their Barrows armour at an armour stand in a player-owned house because it is usually cheaper depending on the player's Smithing level.
Bob is also featured briefly in the Death to the Dorgeshuun quest, which shows him to dislike the Dorgeshuun. Believing Zanik to be a violent goblin, he screams at the player and Zanik to leave his store. He also expresses displeasure at having the Gnome Child in his store during the 20th Anniversary event, initially saying that he "does not serve their kind", before being flattered after the Gnome Child mistook him for Robert the Strong.
He is one of the people in Lumbridge that can be approached about the disturbance to the castle basement wall in The Lost Tribe.
Bob was one of the Lumbridge citizens to be attacked by a monkey during the 2021 Birthday event.

- A comment was written by Mod John A, the main developer of Death to the Dorgeshuun, in the RuneScript code for Bob's dialogue during the quest, which states "Bob is a crazy racist!"[1]
- Bob's statement that he doesn't "serve their kind", in reference to the gnome child, may be a reference to the film Star Wars: Episode IV – A New Hope, in which a similar statement is made towards C-3PO by the bartender of the Mos Eisley cantina.
- The painting inside Bob's Brilliant Axe's may be a reference to Bob Ross's "Distant Mountains" painting, as the framing and subject are nearly identical.
- As a child, Bob was sent to the Varrock Museum by his father, hoping he'd follow the path of academia. The museum instead assigned him to preserve and repair Third Age Armour, a skill he picked up rather quickly. In the May 2022 edition of the Postbag from the Hedge, he credits this experience as the reason he is able to repair ancient and exotic armours such as those dropped by the Barrows Brothers.
- ^ Jagex. Mod Ash's Twitter account. 2 January 2021. (Archived from the original on 9 January 2021.) Mod Ash: "The developer's intention, in Death to the Dorgeshuun, was very clearly for Bob to be racist: [1]"
