Cabbage detail.png

A cabbage is a consumable item, which can be obtained either by growing it on a Farming patch or by picking it in various areas around Gielinor. Up to ten of them can be stored in a sack, creating a sack of cabbages. Cabbages can be eaten to restore 1 Hitpoint, which means a full sack of cabbages still only heals 10 hitpoints. Cabbages can also be used as an ingredient in garden pies, which can be used to boost a player's Farming level.

Cabbages can be obtained from Farming, by planting cabbage seeds in an allotment patch. They can also be picked from cabbage fields found throughout the world. Picking them there on free-to-play worlds will always give a cabbage, but on members worlds it may produce a cabbage seed instead.

Despite looking similar to regular cabbages, Draynor Manor cabbages are not the same item as cabbages that can be found anywhere else in the game. The Draynor Manor variant plays a role in the Black Knights' Fortress quest, where this special type of cabbage would be the final ingredient for a new weapon created by the Black Knights. Instead, players need to use a regular cabbage found anywhere else to successfully destroy this secret weapon.

If cabbages are brought to Lunderwin at the Zanaris marketplace, they can be sold for 100 coins each (they must be unnoted). As part of a security measure, sacks of cabbages cannot be taken to the marketplace. Lunderwin also does not accept noted cabbages. Due to the entrance fee of a diamond to enter the marketplace, it is not recommended to use this service to make money. However it can be beneficial to earn some money back, to recoup some of these costs.

Draynor cabbages[edit | edit source]

Draynor cabbages can only be found at the western patch—containing 7 cabbages—inside the grounds of Draynor Manor. These are slightly darker in appearance and cannot be sold on the Grand Exchange, but are otherwise tradeable. Unlike normal cabbages, Draynor cabbages give a slight Defence boost every time one is consumed. This is one of two Defence boosting items in free-to-play, with the other being the kebab.

Farming[edit | edit source]

A player is able to farm a cabbage at level 7 Farming. You gain 10 experience for planting the seed and 11.5 experience for harvesting the cabbage. It takes 40 minutes for the cabbage to fully grow. You can also have a farmer watch your cabbages for 1 sack of onions.

Trivia[edit | edit source]

  • When you try to exchange cabbages into noted cabbages at the Falador farming patches, the tool leprechaun complains about cabbages and says to take them away.
  • During the Black Knights' Fortress quest, if the player uses a Draynor cabbage on the witch's potion, a message appears, saying: "This is the wrong sort of cabbage", to which the player adds: "I'm not supposed to be helping the witch you know...".
  • It is possible to obtain three cabbages as a master clue scroll reward.[1]
  • If a player receives 0 points in the Theatre of Blood, they will only receive a cabbage as a reward from the chest in Verzik Vitur's treasure vault, along with a message that reads We are most displeased with your performance. Are you even trying?
