The Christmas corrupt cluefest was a special clue-seeker event held over the last two weeks of 2016. Clues were released on the Official OSRS Twitter and Official OSRS Facebook account.

Damn, to provide context... there will be some clues put out over social media, somewhat similar to crack the clue but considerably easier.

Bit of a raids teaser basically. Keep an eye on the old school twitter!

The numbers correspond to letters that need to be assigned. 6 is a common number, so it is most likely a vowel. By guessing it should be O, one can assume the vertical clue 14-6-T is H-O-T, and the horizontal clue 5-O-O-T-9 is B-O-O-T-S. From there the vertical 3-B-B-O-T is ABBOT, so 3 is A. The horizontal clue 1-L-A-4 is CLAY or FLAX, but 4 is the final letter of a vertical clue, and it's much more likely a word will end in Y rather than X, so the word is CLAY. By continuing this process one would arrive at the following solution:

Solution of the 1st Christmas corrupt clue

Take a bowl of hot water, leather boots, and soft clay to Abbot Langley.

Clue 2 - Kiteshield[edit | edit source]

Clue #2 was released on the 27th of December:

In order to solve this puzzle, write the letters according to the order of the alphabet, starting from the shown letter to the square with the question mark. One should go according to the order or the reverse order as needed. For example, on the top row, go left from D 2 letters, D-C-B, the question mark corresponds to B. Solving the top rows gives B-O-N-E-S. The final solution is shown:

Solution of the 4th Clue

Bring an acorn and regular bones to Louie Legs.

Trivia[edit | edit source]

  • The platebody was discovered by coincidence two days before the clues were given.
