Clay rocks are Mining rocks that can be mined with level 1 Mining, producing 1 Clay and providing 5 Mining experience. If the player equips a Bracelet of clay, soft clay will be produced instead.

Clay is used with water to make soft clay, which in turn is used in Crafting and Construction and making magic tablets.

Clay is not recommended to train Mining, as copper and tin give more experience. However, clay is often used as a money making method for free-to-play players (giving 123 each rock, or 3,444 per inventory with each inventory taking roughly 1 minute to fill).

Pre roll drops[edit | edit source]

A gem table rolls before the main drop table.[1] There's a chance to receive nothing here so that players can receive no items from a rock even if they are guaranteed to receive an ore in the main drop table.[2] The table gets more likely to be rolled if the player has a glory amulet equipped: the probability grows from 1/256 to 1/86.[3]

The probability for a player to receive a clay drop is shown for varying levels in the figure below. The rock will deplete after receiving the clay. Mining gloves and its variants do not affect clay rock depletion.
