Climbing boots are used in the Death Plateau, Troll Stronghold, Eadgar's Ruse, and Troll Romance quests, and are used for an elite Treasure Trails clue. They can be taken(along with an iron bar) to the blacksmith in Burthorpe to produce Spiked boots. After finishing Death Plateau, players may buy Climbing boots from Tenzing for 12 coins after a brief dialogue. It can also be purchased from the Bounty Hunter Store for 5,400 points.

Before finishing Death Plateau, trying to wear climbing boots gives the message: "The sherpa's feet must be very small; I can't get them on."

Climbing boots are popular among players of all combat levels due to their very cheap price, lack of negative bonuses, and the fact that they give +2 Strength bonus and require no Defence level to wear. Climbing boots provide the same strength bonus as rune boots. They are especially popular with all varieties of Ironmen due to them being cheap and easy to obtain compared to other boots.

Trivia[edit | edit source]

  • The pair of climbing boots given to you by Tenzing during Death Plateau is unwearable. Attempting to equip the boots would result in the message: "The sherpa's feet must be very small; I can't get them on." The same is said for any pair until you complete the quest, even those coming from other players.
