Cooked karambwan is a type of food that can be obtained by thoroughly cooking raw karambwan on a fire or cooking range, requiring level 30 Cooking and granting 190 experience when successful. Players may burn a karambwan while cooking one, resulting in a burnt karambwan; the burn rate while cooking these will decrease as players reach higher Cooking levels. It will stop burning entirely at Cooking level 99 on both ranges and fires. It is possible to use tick manipulation to cook each raw karambwan in one tick (where other food takes four), increasing Cooking experience rates.
In order to thoroughly cook raw karambwan, a player must first complete Tai Bwo Wannai Trio and then talk to Tinsay afterwards.[1][2] Otherwise, players can only cook it into poison karambwan.
Eating cooked karambwan heals 18 Hitpoints. As food they have the unique property that if a player eats a different food item or drinks a dose of potion and then immediately eats a karambwan, the karambwan is eaten with almost no delay. This does not work if the karambwan is eaten first, and does not work when eating two karambwan in a row. The "combo eating" tactic can be enhanced further by drinking a dose of Saradomin brew alongside a karambwan and the base food item, enabling a player to heal over 50 Hitpoints very rapidly (eat in the order of food>brew>karambwan). An additional benefit is that eating a karambwan in combat only adds a delay of two ticks before the player can attack again, while most other foods have a delay of three ticks.
