Crystal body (inactive) detail.png

A crystal body is a piece of crystal armour requiring 70 Defence to equip. When equipped, a 7.5% damage bonus and 15% accuracy bonus is applied to the crystal bow or Bow of Faerdhinen when either is equipped. This bonus stacks additively with the crystal legs and crystal helmet's bonuses, for a total of 15% damage and 30% accuracy. The bonus also stacks with the slayer helmet (i) and is useful for bosses similar to the Abyssal Sire.

Players can create a crystal body via a singing bowl by combining 150 crystal shards and three crystal armour seeds. Doing so requires level 74 Smithing and Crafting to sing the crystal (the levels can be boosted), and grants 7,500 experience in both skills. If the player does not meet the Smithing and Crafting requirements, they can have Conwenna or Reese sing the crystal for them for an extra 60 crystal shards, for a total of 210.

A dangerous death in PvP causes the crystal body to revert to three crystal armour seeds, which will be then dropped for the killer. All crystal shards will be lost should this happen.

Degradation[edit | edit source]

When created, the crystal body starts off at 2,500 charges and degrades like all crystal equipment, with one charge being depleted for each successful hit that is received from combat (protection prayers can prevent the loss of a charge); once the body's charges have been fully depleted, it will no longer have its set effect and stat bonuses until more charges are added to it. Wearing an elven signet while using crystal equipment will provide a 10% chance to not consume charges.

In order to add charges to the crystal body, crystal shards must be used on it (this can be done before it is inactive as well), with each shard granting 100 charges, up to a maximum of 20,000. Dismantling a crystal body will return the crystal armour seeds to the player and doing so will lose all crystal shard charges that were previously loaded.
