Dense runestone

Dense runestone is found in the dense runestone mine east of the Dark Altar in Arceuus. Here, with a pickaxe and chisel, players mine the runestone to get dense essence blocks, which can be used on the dark altar at 100% Arceuus favour to runecraft blood and soul runes. Players need both level 38 Mining and level 38 Crafting in order to mine the dense runestone, and having a high Mining level will cause the runestone to deplete slower:[1] at level 1 Mining, the runestone lasts for about 5.56 blocks on average, whereas at level 99 it lasts for 10.

After completion of the medium tasks in the Kourend & Kebos Diary, players have a chance to mine two dense essence blocks at once. No additional experience is awarded for the extra block.

Trivia[edit | edit source]

  • Each player has a unique instance of dense runestone. This means that players can share a location without affecting each others' depletion rate.
