Fermenting vats are used to prepare the various types of ales, as well as cider when brewing. There are two vats in RuneScape. One is located in Keldagrim, on the second floor of the bar in eastern Keldagrim. The other vat is located at Port Phasmatys, underneath the trapdoor in the bar.

To actually use the vats, players add brewing ingredients into them, and wait (several days), then collect the brew in the players choice of either 8 Beer glasses or 2 Calquat kegs.

Steps[edit | edit source]

For ales[edit | edit source]

  1. Place 2 buckets of water into the vat
  2. Add two Barley malt items.
  3. (Optional) Add a bag of "The stuff."
  4. Place the special ingredients in the vat.
  5. Add one pot of ale yeast.
  6. Wait at least 12 hours before checking. The ale will probably be ready in 2–3 days.
  7. Collect finished ale (or drain bad ale, if it failed).

For cider[edit | edit source]

  1. Place 4 buckets of Apple mush in the vat.
  2. Add one pot of ale yeast.
  3. Wait at least 12 hours before checking. The cider will be ready in 2–3 days.
  4. Collect finished cider (or drain bad cider, if it failed).
