Fermenting vats are used to in brewing to prepare the various types of ales and cider as part of the Cooking skill. There are two fermenting vats in Gielinor. One is located in eastern Keldagrim, on the 1st floor[UK]2nd floor[US] of the Laughing Miner Pub. The other vat is located in Port Phasmatys underneath the The Green Ghost pub.

To use the vats, brewing ingredients must be put into them, followed by waiting until it is done. On average this takes 26 hours, then players must drain the vat to the nearby barrel and collect it with either 8 beer glasses or 2 calquat kegs.
