Flames of Zamorak is a combat spell in the standard spellbook, requiring 60 Magic and the completion of Mage Arena I to cast. In addition, players must also be wielding a Zamorak staff, staff of the dead, Thammaron's sceptre (a), accursed sceptre (a), or toxic staff of the dead.
Flames of Zamorak has a maximum hit of 20. Like the other god spells, the maximum hit is temporarily increased to 30 while the Charge spell is active and the respective god cape is worn. Upon a successful hit, the spell reduces the target's Magic level by 1 + 5%.[1] This decrease does not stack nor will it reapply itself until the opponent returns to their base Magic level. Since Magic level affects magic defence, this causes subsequent attacks to be more accurate; however, the spell's max hit will not be increased.
The staff of the dead, toxic staff of the dead, Thammaron's sceptre (a), and accursed sceptre (a) are all capable of autocasting Flames of Zamorak.
When wearing an Elidinis' ward (f), occult necklace, tormented bracelet, Imbued Zamorak cape, ancestral robes, staff of the dead, and Charge is active, Flames of Zamorak has a maximum damage of 42. Adding the slayer helmet (i) while on a slayer task, the maximum damage increases to 48.

Note that since Flames of Zamorak requires a Zamorak staff, staff of the dead, Thammaron's sceptre (a), accursed sceptre (a), or toxic staff of the dead, rune-providing staves cannot be used. However, a tome of fire can be worn to provide infinite fire runes. This does not grant the 50% damage boost from the tome, therefore charges from the tome will not be consumed.
