Ice Burst is the second tier Ice spell from the Ancient Magicks spellbook, available at level 70 Magic. It is capable of hitting up to 22 damage (without any magic damage boosts) per cast.
Ice Burst can freeze targets, causing them to become unable to move for 16 ticks (9.6 seconds). It is also able to target up to 9 targets in a 3x3 grid around its primary target, just like all other burst and barrage spells.
As with all Ancient Magicks spells, the quest Desert Treasure I must be completed to cast this spell.
Ice Burst is commonly used in Castle Wars and the Fight Pits, due to its relative low cost and level requirement compared with Ice Barrage, and the relatively large number of targets in small spaces, especially on crowded worlds.
It is also used as a cheaper alternative to Ice Barrage, used to train Magic (and Defence) quickly. See Magic training for more information.
When wearing an Elidinis' ward (f), occult necklace, tormented bracelet, imbued god cape, ancestral robes, and kodai wand (or similar +15% magic damage weapon), Ice Burst has a maximum damage of 31. Adding the slayer helmet (i) while on a slayer task, the maximum damage increases to 35.
