An infernal cape is a superior variant of the fire cape awarded for completing the Inferno. It has over twice as many offensive bonuses as the fire cape, along with unrivaled defensive bonuses. In terms of overall bonuses, it is the most powerful melee cape. However, the Ardougne cloaks 3 and 4 still surpass it in stab attack and prayer bonuses, while the mythical cape surpasses it in crush attack.

The infernal cape can be used together with the trouver parchment and 500,000 coins on Perdu in order to create infernal cape (l), which does not get lost upon death above level 20 Wilderness.

An infernal cape can be exchanged for a chance of obtaining the Jal-nib-rek pet by speaking to TzHaar-Ket-Keh. Like killing TzKal-Zuk, there is a 1/100 chance of obtaining the pet this way. If the player already has the pet, capes cannot be exchanged.

The infernal cape can be combined with the max cape to change its appearance by turning it into the infernal max cape.

If the player dies below level 20 Wilderness, it will remain in the player's inventory; however, the item will be unusable and must be repaired by using it on Perdu and paying him 50,000. If not protected when the player dies at level 20 wilderness or higher, the cape is converted into coins. Alternatively, a Trouver parchment and a payment of 500,000 coins can given to Perdu in order to lock it (after which it gains the (l) suffix); this allows the item to be kept in death, unbroken, even if the player dies at level 20 Wilderness or higher.
