A player wearing initiate armour.
Initiate armour can be obtained after completing the Recruitment Drive quest by buying it from Sir Tiffy Cashien in Falador Park. The armour consists of three pieces of plate armour, white with gold trim in appearance.
A full set can be bought for 20,000 coins. Otherwise, it can be bought separately for a total of 24,000 coins (6,000 (helm) + 8,000 (legs) + 10,000 (platebody)). It is profitable to buy the full set after completing Recruitment Drive, even though the completion of the quest gives players a free sallet anyway. Because the high alchemy value of the sallet is worth more than the 2,000 coins you pay extra for the set compared to just buying the hauberk and cuisse separately, you can save some money by buying the full set and then alchemising the second sallet you now have.
It requires a Defence level of 20 and a Prayer level of 10 to wear. The set has a small prayer bonus equivalent to that of monk's robes, as well as offensive/defensive bonuses equivalent to those of mithril armour. Initiate armour is commonly used on Slayer tasks that involve having to use Prayer, because the set preserves Prayer points, and, therefore, the player spends as little as possible on prayer potions.
You need to wear full initiate while praying at Altar of Guthix in Taverley for a Medium Task in the Falador Diary.
As with all black and white equipment, the Initiate armour cannot be made from raw materials using the Smithing skill.
All pieces from this set can be stored in an armour case in a costume room in a player's house.
