Pink skirt detail.png

Iodine was an unobtainable item that previously could be found in the game cache. It was created to replace an item used by Jagex moderators for testing features of Monkey Madness I called the "Monkey Madness helper". Since items could not be fully removed once created, Iodine was added in a hidden update in 2005 to fill this slot.

The name and examine were designed to be inconspicuous, but the actual item was just a copy of a pink skirt. Originally, players had the option to "Activate" it. If players attempted to view the Iodine in game by using cheating software, they would be given a Hex edit detected instead.

In RuneScape, the item later became viewable via Quick Chat, causing much confusion.

The item was never obtainable in Old School RuneScape, and was replaced by Amethyst broad bolts in 2017.
