The King Black Dragon Lair, abbreviated as the KBD lair, is a multi-combat area, allowing groups of players to fight him simultaneously. The lair can be accessed via the western entrance to the Lava Maze Dungeon in level 42 Wilderness near the Lava Maze, however the lair itself is not the Wilderness. Warning: Watch out for player-killers on the way to the lair. The dungeon may be accessed via a ladder in a fenced area on the west end of the Lava Maze containing four lesser demons. The ladder leads to an area with poison spiders, and a lever which will teleport the player to the King Black Dragon's lair. The lair itself isn't in the Wilderness, but players are in the Wilderness until they pull the lever. As with all Wilderness levers, if a player is teleblocked, they can't pull the lever. As the lair itself is not considered the Wilderness, players can use any means of teleportation to leave.

The quickest way to reach the KBD lair is by rubbing a burning amulet and teleporting to the Lava Maze.

Added a 'commune' option to the lever that teleports players to the King Black Dragon's lair, allowing players to see the number of other players currently in the lair.

Trivia[edit | edit source]

The former KBD Lair, visible by using the oculus orb.
  • Originally, when RuneScape 2 was released, the lair was mapped by the Temple of Ikov. It was later changed due to safespotting.[1] It still exists in-game, although it cannot be reached by any means. Players who are in the icy area of the Temple of Ikov dungeon can see some of the old KBD lair's tiles on their minimap, and even hear the lava bubbling if they stand close enough to the western wall. Like the current lair, the KBD was located in the centre accompanied with an uncut sapphire and scattered coin spawns. The teleport lever was located one tile west of the southernmost skeleton.
