The Knights of Ardougne are found in the East Ardougne market place. One is also found in the courtyard of the East Ardougne Castle. Most are found attempting to chase away thieves. They will protect all stalls from the silk stall and up by attacking players that they observe stealing from them.
Knights of Ardougne can be pickpocketed at level 55 Thieving, giving the player a coin pouch worth 50 coins and 84.3 Thieving experience. The gloves of silence or the medium Ardougne diary increase success rate by 5% and 10%, respectively. Failing to pickpocket will result in being hit for 3 points of damage. They are a good source of Thieving experience with a theoretical maximum of 3,000 pickpockets per hour for a total of 252,900 experience per hour.
The chance of a successful pickpocket is ~60% at level 55 and ~94% at level 99, linearly increasing with each level. With the medium Ardougne Diary completed, this increases to ~67% and 100%, respectively. With the diary bonus, players stop failing altogether at level 95, and at around level 90 the damage becomes sustainable with regen bracelet and Hitpoints cape/Rapid Heal.
A common training method is to lure a knight to the north-east house in Ardougne market (east of the silk stall) and repeatedly pickpocket the knight. This method only works by luring the south-eastmost knight in the market to the north-east house, then shutting the door. The knight will only move between the two southernmost tiles in the house. The player can then set NPC attack options to "Hidden" (under the "Controls" panel in the "Settings" tab) and repeatedly left-click on the knight. By positioning the camera correctly, it is possible to repeatedly click the exact same spot without moving the mouse before opening the coin pouches. The knight must be able to move freely between the southern two tiles, or he will despawn. Players may hop worlds until finding a world where the knight has already been lured. World 378 and 302 are the unofficial worlds.
If pickpocketing the Knights of Ardougne with the full Rogue's set from 55 Thieving to 99 Thieving, one can expect to gain about 15,500,000 coins.
A known bug with a Knight of Ardougne occurs when two people fail to pickpocket at the same time. Doing so will result in the knight temporarily disappearing, or "flickering", for 1–2 seconds. Contrary to some players' misbelief, the flickering is not caused by players wielding weapons while pickpocketing.

Trapping knights[edit | edit source]
When trapping knights, it is important to ensure the knight has at least one square of space to move back and forth, to prevent it from resetting after being stuck for too long. It is possible using the dragon spear to trap one specific knight in the north-western house of the marketplace, without it being able to leave the house by itself. To do this, attack the knight that respawns in the south-eastern corner of the marketplace, and make it stand on the highlighted tile on the image.
This can be done by standing on the highlighted tile, and then walking inside the knight to push it north. If the knight walks another direction, re-try doing the same thing again. Next, use the dragon spear special attack twice to shove the knight into the building. Next, close the door while the knight is stunned, and walk next to the southern windows of the building. This will cause the knight to walk towards the southernmost two tiles of the building. As long as the knight is not killed or blocked from walking back and forth between these two tiles, it will be stuck there until the next game update, because the tiles north of the knight are outside of its normal wandering range.
Pickpocket chance[edit | edit source]
The chance of successfully pickpocketing a Knight of Ardougne 51/256 at level 1, and 241/256 at level 99, interpolating linearly in between.
With the multiplicative +10% pickpocketing bonus from the Medium Ardougne Diary, players will stop failing to pickpocket them at level 95 Thieving.

Trivia[edit | edit source]
- The release of Song of the Elves made it possible to wear the entire Knight of Ardougne outfit, as both the Ardougne knight helm and Ardougne knight platebody are used in the quest. When both are worn with standard steel platelegs, leather gloves, leather boots, and a steel longsword, the player is visually indistinguishable from a Knight NPC.

So for the knights the default would be 50/255 at level 1 and 240/255 at level 99, interpolating between those. And if you had the diary bonus, it'd be 55/255 - 264/255 (where anything 255/255 or above is 100%). I don't know exactly how the engine rounds it up/down."
