A player attaches a kraken tentacle to an abyssal whip.

A Kraken tentacle is obtained from killing cave krakens (and their boss version) in the Kraken Cove, located just south-west of the Piscatoris Fishing Colony. The tentacle is used to make abyssal tentacles, enhanced tridents of the seas, and enhanced tridents of the swamps.

When the tentacle is used on an abyssal whip, an upgraded version of the whip, the abyssal tentacle, is created. The upgraded abyssal tentacle requires level 75 Attack to wield. Once combined with the whip, the weapon will degrade after 10,000 hits, consuming the whip and leaving only the tentacle. When using the items on each other there will be a warning message that states The tentacle will gradually consume your whip and destroy it. You won't be able to get the whip out again. The combined item is not tradeable.

Ten kraken tentacles can be given to Lieve McCracken to enhance a trident of the seas or swamp to hold 20,000 charges instead of 2,500. Ten tentacles are required for every trident the player wishes to enhance.

Trivia

• The kraken tentacle functions similarly to RuneScape 3's wyrm spike, another high-level Slayer monster drop which is used to create an upgraded version of the abyssal whip, the lava whip. Similarly to the tentacle, the lava whip is degradable and can be charged by adding more whips.
