Limpwurt roots are used in the Herblore skill to make strength potions and super strength potions. They are also used in free-to-play to obtain strength potions and energy potions from the Apothecary. Free players can easily obtain limpwurt roots from both hill giants and hobgoblins.
Members can also grow limpwurt roots from limpwurt seeds, requiring 26 Farming to plant and harvest. The number of roots each seed yields is random but scales with the player's Farming level, with the minimum being three and the maximum being three plus one for every ten Farming levels the player has (to a normal maximum of 12 at 90-99 Farming; boosts can be used to yield 13 at 100+ Farming ). As a result, compost and its stronger variants do not affect the number of roots harvested.
15 limpwurt roots can be used as payment for the squirrel gardeners to protect the player's teak trees on Fossil Island.
20 unnoted limpwurt roots must be given to Winelda during the Temple of Ikov quest.

Jagex. Mod Ash's Twitter account. 16 October 2018. Mod Ash: "I think it just picks a number of roots and gives them to you. That's 3 + a random number. For levels 90-99 the max random number is 8. For levels 80-89 the max random number is 7, etc. Boosts are accepted."
