Logs, also called normal logs, are obtained from cutting regular, evergreen, jungle, dying and dead trees. Players can burn these logs using the Firemaking skill. Cutting the logs gives 25 Woodcutting experience, and burning them gives 40 Firemaking experience. These logs have no requirement to be cut or burned.
Members training Construction can bring logs to a sawmill to make planks at a cost of 100 coins each. Alternatively, the Lunar spell Plank Make can allow players to convert them to planks at a lower cost, but at the expense of runes.
While wearing Kandarin headgear 1 or higher, normal trees anywhere give double logs when chopped down but no additional experience is provided.
Members can also combine logs with fire lighters to create various coloured logs. The table below shows what firelighters can be combined with regular logs. The logs can be burned for 50 Firemaking experience each.

Four normal logs respawn on Lumbridge Castle's roof, in a house in Draynor Village, in the Wizards' Tower, and in a house in Rimmington.
Members can also fletch these logs into bows and arrow shafts. It is currently the only log which can be used with gnomish firelighters, which are obtained as rewards from Treasure Trails. These firelighters produce fire in one of five predetermined colours: red, blue, green, purple, or white, and also give slightly more Firemaking experience than lighting the logs normally.
Normal logs are also used to travel to Entrana or Taverley using the Balloon Transport System after completing the Enlightened Journey quest (they are also required during the quest).

Firemaking[edit | edit source]
A player only needs level 1 Firemaking and a tinderbox to turn a normal tree's logs into a fire, granting 40 experience.
The infernal axe provides a 1/3 chance of burning any log received when cutting trees. The player gains 20 Firemaking experience when cutting trees, half the experience gained from burning the log normally. If the Kandarin headgear 1 or above is worn in conjunction with the infernal axe, only one log is burned when a tree section is cut.
Construction[edit | edit source]
Logs may be turned into planks at a Sawmill for use in Construction for 100 coins each. Alternatively, the Lunar spell Plank Make can allow players to convert the logs to planks at a lower cost, but at the expense of runes.
Fletching[edit | edit source]
Logs from normal trees can be cut into arrow shafts at level 1 Fletching (granting 5 Fletching experience), shortbows at level 5 (granting 5 XP for unstrung and another 5 experience for stringing), longbows at level 10 (granting 10 experience for unstrung and another 10 experience for stringing), and crossbow stocks at level 9 (granting 6 experience).
