Low Level Alchemy (also known as low alch or LA) is a non-combat spell that turns alchemisable items into coins at 40% of the specialty shop sale price, equivalent to general store buying prices. This is about 2/3 of High Level Alchemy value. It requires 21 Magic and grants 31 Magic experience per cast.

Low Level Alchemy is not recommended for Magic training or for profit as the coins gained are rarely greater than the cost of the item and spell. It costs the same as High Level Alchemy if using an item that provides unlimited fire runes, while yielding less experience per cast and per hour even though the casting speed of this spell is 40% faster.

When in the Alchemist's Playground of Mage Training Arena, Low Level Alchemy can only be cast every five ticks instead of the usual three.

Casting this spell at the Fountain of Rune is a requirement for the easy Wilderness Diary.

Cost[edit | edit source]

The Explorer's ring 1 and above allows 30 free casts per day, however no experience is granted.

It is possible to cast this spell at the Fountain of Rune, requiring no runes, resulting in greater profit, however no experience is granted. Like most activities in the Wilderness, this is attempted at one's own risk.
