During the quest, the player is tasked with stealing the Staff of Armadyl from the Temple of Ikov. However, the player is later given the choice to side with the guardians of Armadyl or with Lucien.
Lucien must be defeated at the end of the Temple of Ikov quest if you sided with Armadyl.
History[edit | edit source]
Early History[edit | edit source]
Like the other Mahjarrat, Lucien lived on Freneskae, a harsh and desolate world of perpetual warfare. In the Second Age of Gielinor, the two demi-gods Icthlarin and Amascut travelled to Freneskae in order to recruit the Mahjarrat to fight the Zarosian invaders of their homeland, the Kharidian Empire, in the Kharidian - Zarosian War. There, Lucien aided the Menaphite warriors in driving back the Zarosian army, with success. During this time, they were known as the Stern Judges of Icthlarin.
However the Mahjarrat did not remain loyal to the Menaphite Pantheon and soon betrayed them and joined Zaros. In the Zarosian Empire the Mahjarrat rose to the top of society and played an essential part in its rise and fall. Centuries later unrest began appearing among some of the Mahjarrat, particularly Zamorak, the highest general in the Zarosian Army, who began to conspire against Zaros.
Recent history[edit | edit source]
In Year 154 of the Fifth Age Lucien led an infamous attack on Varrock, but was quickly defeated, thanks to a strong Misthalin guard and a sufficient supply of runes. Defeated, Lucien went into hiding, plotting to gain hands on a powerful artefact to increase his powers.
In Year 169 Lucien, in disguise, attempted to convince an adventurer to retrieve the Staff of Armadyl from the Temple of Ikov. He gave them a pendant to help them pass through the temple's defences. The adventurer was confronted by the Guardians of Armadyl, who tried to protect the Staff. The adventurer either continued their quest and stole the Staff and brought it to Lucien, or they allied with the Guardians and attempted to kill Lucien in his house near Edgeville. No matter the outcome Lucien afterwards disappears to the North.
Dialogue[edit | edit source]
Trivia[edit | edit source]
- If you try to attack Lucien before the end of the Temple of Ikov quest without wearing the Armadyl pendant, he says "You do not want to attack me. I am your friend." He then waves his hand similar to the Star Wars Jedi mind trick. The chatbox will then state "You decide not to attack Lucien. He is your friend."
