A magic butterfly net is an item used in the Hunter skill. It is wielded to capture butterflies, and implings throughout Gielinor and Puro-Puro, and bats in the Chambers of Xeric. A player must have a Hunter level of 17 in order to wield a magic butterfly net. In order to make use of the net, butterfly jars or impling jars are also needed. These creatures are caught by left-clicking on them, while sporting the correct skill level and equipment.

The magic butterfly net can perform the same actions as an ordinary butterfly net, however the magic butterfly net increases the player's chances of capturing butterflies, implings, and bats[1] by about 7.8%.[2]

The net is lost upon death.

Players can right-click their magic butterfly net to open the Impling Tracker, which tracks how many implings they have caught inside Puro-Puro and the surface world. Implings that are caught barehanded are also tracked on this log.

A magic butterfly net can be obtained by trading Elnock Inquisitor the following impling jars:

  • There was a bug where if a player wielded a magic butterfly net and a skillcape, their left foot went through the cape.
