# Marble incense burners

The marble burners can be built in the Lamp space of the Chapel in a player-owned house. It requires 69 Construction to build and when built, it gives 1,600 experience. The player must have a hammer and a saw in their inventory to build it.

Marble burners improve Prayer experience gained when using bones with the Gilded altar, one lit burner giving 50% bonus Prayer experience while 100% bonus experience is gained with two burners lit. The player must have a marrentill herb and a tinderbox to light a burner.

Lit incense burners increase the amount of Prayer experience gained when using bones with the altar in the room by an additional 50% per burner. Note that all three types of incense burners — Oak, Mahogany, and Marble — all yield the same experience bonus and remain lit for the same amount of time.

## Burn duration

The duration in which burners stay lit are random and depend on the player's Firemaking level. The duration is ${\displaystyle 200+firemakingLevel+A}$ ticks, in which ${\displaystyle A}$ is a random number between 0 and ${\displaystyle firemakingLevel-1}$[1].

• At level 50, a burner would last between 250 and 299 ticks (150-179 seconds).
• At level 85, a burner would last between 285 and 369 ticks (171-221 seconds).
• At level 99, a burner would last between 299 and 397 ticks (179-238 seconds).

Burners will not stay lit when all players have left the house. However, if there are other players in the house when the owner leaves through the entrance portal; they will stay lit as long as the owner returns to the house within 5 seconds.

So at level 70 that'd be 200 + 70 + (random number 0-69 inclusive), i.e. between 270 and 339."
