Iron ore is always in demand due to iron and steel bars use in Smithing. There are many locations to mine iron ore, but the best free-to-play location is in the Dwarven Mine or the Mining Guild if you have 60 Mining. The closest bank is Falador East Bank for both locations. Using the Mining Guild yields approximatly 700 ores per hour compared to the 560 of Dwarven Mine

In the Dwarven Mines, it is recommended to have at least 65 Combat level to avoid the king scorpion aggressiveness, otherwise time will have to be spent reaching a safe location.

It is also possible to find uncut gems while mining, increasing the total profit.
