Monkeys can be found next to the Rug Merchants who run the Magic carpet system in the Kharidian Desert. Like other monkeys, they cannot be understood without an m'speak amulet if not completed Monkey Madness II.
According to the rug merchants, they do not like the monkeys, but are forced to keep them because Ali Morrisane thinks they will attract business. If a player has an amulet of monkeyspeak, the merchants will request that they speak to their monkey and tell him to get off their back. If players attempt to do this however, the monkey will just insult them and demand bananas. If given one, they will continue to insult the player and, demand another, causing the player to leave in frustration.
