A Needle is an item used along with thread to create armour out of leather and dragon leather through the Crafting skill. It can be bought in crafting stores, such as Dommik's Crafting Store. in Al Kharid. They can also be bought from Moon Clan Fine Clothes on Lunar Isle, the Canifis General Store and Fancy Clothes Store in Varrock (Members).

Needles can also be found from digging in the Digsite. They can also be found with a 10% probability by searching haystacks or hay bales - this is a reference to the idiom "finding a needle in a haystack", meaning something that is almost impossible to find because it is hidden among so many other things. When your character finds one this way, they will remark on how rare an occurrence it is.

Needles are stackable items, presumably because they are small, although normal usage does not require them to be.

During the Witch's House quest, a needle can be found by searching the crates in the basement.
