An obsidian tank is a type of special build. They train their Defence and Strength levels extremely high and maintain level one Attack. They get the name "Obsidian Tank" from the fact that they use the Tzhaar-ket-om in PVP to achieve high hits at low levels. They usually also have high defence (75+) for the ability to use the Serpentine helm and the Dragonfire shield along with the Bandos chestplate and Bandos tassets. This build's combat level can range anywhere from mid 40s, all the way up to the mid 80s.

Training[edit | edit source]

Training an obsidian pure is a rather lengthy process since keeping Attack at level 1 means melee hits are very inaccurate. They usually use weapons such as the Red topaz machete, a poisoned Bone dagger, the Event rpg, or the slayer staff. The slayer staff is the preferred weapon to use because it has the highest crush bonus and strength bonus, provides the fastest attack speed, and the highest damage per minute for any one-Attack weapon. This makes it an ideal training weapon, because rock crabs are weak to crush-based attacks. The downside to the slayer staff is the amount of time it takes to obtain: in order to wield it you must have level 55 Slayer and level 50 Magic.

Features of this build[edit | edit source]

  • An Obsidian tank has a high Defence level allowing it to use high level armour, giving them access to special effects as well as high defensive bonuses.
    • 75 Defence allows use of the serpentine helm and the dragonfire shield: the venom damage allows the build to hit high damage and stack it with the special attack of the dragon fire shield, in turn dealing massive damage.
  • At 99 Strength, this account can deal 40+ damage in one hit with the Tzhaar-ket-om.
