Enchanted opal bolts are opal bolts enchanted through the Enchant Crossbow Bolt (Opal) spell, which requires level 4 Magic, 1 cosmic and 2 air runes and enchants 10 opal bolts per cast. Opal bolts are made by tipping bronze bolts with opal bolt tips.

Enchanted opal bolts have a chance (5%) of triggering the Lucky Lightning effect, which results in a lightning bolt striking your opponent and causing extra damage (visible ranged level / 10). When under the effect of the Zaryte crossbow, this damage is scaled up slightly (visible ranged level / 9). At 112 ranged level extra damage is 11.

If the player has completed the Hard Kandarin Diary, there is a 10% increase (5.5%) of the likelihood that the special effect of an enchanted bolt will occur. This effect is always active regardless if the headgear is equipped.
