|How am I supposed to eat that?!|
Potato cactus is an item that is used with the Herblore skill as a secondary ingredient when creating magic potions. They can be grown in a cactus patch by planting potato cactus seeds, requiring level 64 Farming.
Farming[edit | edit source]
At level 64 farming a player can plant a potato cactus seed in a cactus patch. They take roughly 70 minutes to fully grow. Once grown, they can be harvested in a similar manner as normal cacti. Fully grown potato cacti have 6 "lives." Each pick of a potato cactus has a chance to remove one of the patch's lives, with a 75% chance at 64 Farming down to a 30% chance at 99 Farming; this results in the average yield per plant being around 22 at 99 Farming. Once all the lives are used up, the player will have to wait for more potato cacti to grow on the plant.
Obtaining[edit | edit source]
There are a total of 10 spawns in the Kalphite Lair:
- 1st level – 3 spawn in the south-west room where the Kalphite Soldiers are found.
- 2nd level – 7 spawn on the west wall next to the Kalphite Queen.
Note: The Kalphite Soldiers and Kalphite Guardians found in the lair are poisonous. Players are advised to bring some form of antipoison. Kalphite workers and the Kalphite Queen, however, are not poisonous - but be warned that the Kalphite Queen is level 333 and has very dangerous magic, range, and melee attacks that have a max hit of 31.
