Potato cactus is an item that is used with the Herblore skill as a secondary ingredient when creating magic potions and battlemage potions. Potato cactus can also be selected as one of the 3 of 31 items needed for Fairytale I - Growing Pains as well as 1 of 50 items for Mourning's End Part II. They can be grown in a cactus patch by planting potato cactus seeds, requiring level 64 Farming. Eight are also used to pay Taylor to look after a player's Celastrus tree.
At level 64 Farming, a player can plant a potato cactus seed in a cactus patch. They take roughly 70 minutes to fully grow and can be protected by paying a farmer 8 snape grass. Once grown, they can be harvested in a similar manner as normal cacti. Each pick grants 68 experience. Fully grown potato cacti have six "lives". Each pick of a potato cactus has a chance to remove one of the patch's lives. Once all the lives are used up, the player will have to wait for more potato cacti to grow on the plant, the regeneration cycle of the potatoes is gradual but all 6 "lives" should return in 25 minutes.
There are a total of 10 floor spawns in the Kalphite Lair:
Note: The Kalphite Soldiers and Kalphite Guardians found in the lair are poisonous. Players are advised to bring some form of antipoison. Kalphite workers and the Kalphite Queen, however, are not poisonous - but be warned that the Kalphite Queen is level 333 and has very dangerous magic, range, and melee attacks that have a max hit of 31.
