Trying to fix error in Twisted Leagues reward section[edit source]

I happened to notice that for the twisted horns section it should say: Twisted Horns for Slayer helm instead of Twisted Leagues Teleport which got repeated but the page said I couldn't edit it to fix it, so you can please fix that? Thanks! -9bladesofice- 1/1/20

Attempting to add a page for Oziris' Ironman Guide - Disallowed by Auto Mod.[edit source]

Hi, I'm trying to add a page as a sub-page to the Ironman Guide page, but it's being automatically blocked. I've currently put what I want to add on my personal page (User:Cyndafel)). The page is just a checklist version on Oziris' Ironman Guide from here: It needs a lot of work on grammar, formatting and tagging, but I feel would be very useful for any Ironman players to use.

Hi - It appears the edit triggered a lot of our abuse filters when attempting to make a subpage, for a variety of different reasons. You did the right thing by moving the in-progress edit to your userpage - Work on applying the style guide and avoid using real player names, and then we can discuss moving this page into the mainspace. In the mean time, feel free to hit me up on Discord or on my talk page if you require assistance doing the above. --dDbvitC.png Scuzzy Beta hib8CAd.png 08:08, 8 November 2019 (UTC)

Please delete my page[edit source]

Hello. I created another duplicate of [[Money making from Crafting F2P Statistics]] at [[Crafting jewellery and selling to shop]] in an attempt to move that page to my user page. If you could delete "Crafting jewellery and selling to shop" and possibly the other page too. MaxStein (talk) 11:06, 15 November 2019 (UTC)

Hi Max, it's been moved to User:MaxStein/Crafting jewellery and selling to shop and User:MaxStein/Money making from Crafting F2P Statistics, respectively. :) Farming icon.png Salix of Prifddinas (Talk) Quest point icon.png 11:28, 15 November 2019 (UTC)

What triggers tag:Inappropriate words?[edit source]

I am a bit curious, what I wrote in my latest edit of Song of the Elves triggered the tag:inappropriate word? I have experiencedd a few times before especially on the subjects of elves. I don't see anything wrong in what I wrote, so what triggers it? Exaldin (talk) 17:48, 19 December 2019 (UTC)

Judging by other edits to the page that triggered an abusefilter ([1]) I would make an educated guess that there's something on the page already that the filter doesn't like and instead of analysing the words changed in your edit, it checks the entire page instead (which is a common mistake). Alternatively, it's just overly sensitive and this is a false positive. cqm talk 19:33, 19 December 2019 (UTC)
Cqm is correct that this is a false positive. In this caused it was caused by the apostrophe that was used (the mobile keyboard apostrophe ’ is different from normal ') caused a word to get tagged by the filter. I have updated the filter so this shouldn't happen again in the future. Shoyrukon (talk) 20:02, 19 December 2019 (UTC)
Thank you for your answers. I'm glad you agree with my own suspicions.Exaldin (talk) 23:23, 1 January 2020 (UTC)

Barrage request[edit source]

Hello for all monsters especially slayer monsters that have a magic weakness ex. Dust Devils can you update and add the ice barrage+blood barrage method I use its a cheaper method to using a saradomin godsword or any food and it makes tasks very very very quick and makes overhead melee prayer not needed + paired with a cannon especially in multi combat you can level slayer very fast thanks- King Tockly  —The preceding unsigned comment was added by 2405:204:51a5:4ea4:74f8:8989:101d:3de7 (talk) on 15:52, 24 December 2019 (UTC).

Should disambiguations really be considered orphan pages?[edit source]

Just a question that popped into my mind as I looked at Special:LonelyPages There are a lot of these which are disambiguation pages and thus will most likely never be an actual page and doesn't need links, because they are only there to make searching easier. It still struck me as weird, that they are considered orphan pages.

My question: Is it possible to make a clause that states that if a page has the disambiguation template it would no longer be qualified as an orphaned page, so it would be easier to find actual orphaned pages? Exaldin (talk) 19:22, 12 February 2020 (UTC)

Right, rsw has an orphanage page for that using DPL but we never ported it to osw. I've created one at RuneScape:Gallery/Disambiguation pages. Chen (talk) 19:25, 12 February 2020 (UTC)
Thanks, that was really fast. Exaldin (talk) 19:27, 12 February 2020 (UTC)
I'm just asking, but is it possible to automate the process, so that any disambiguation page by default isn't classified as orphans? 'cause now there are several disamb pages on the list again. Exaldin (talk) 22:32, 28 February 2020 (UTC)
the pages are linked by dpl so the gallery page has to be refreshed; I'm not sure if it's refreshed automatically after a certain time if there are no visits. Special:LonelyPages is also fairly slow to update even after refreshing the gallery page, but I don't think there is much that can be done about that other than waiting. チェン (話し合う) 22:35, 28 February 2020 (UTC)
It should update automatically. If it doesn't appear to do so, head to the page RuneScape:Gallery/Disambiguation pages and null edit it (click edit source then click save without making any changes). This will force the link tables to update and should update the special page. Gaz talk 22:35, 28 February 2020 (UTC)
I see, thank you. Exaldin (talk) 22:38, 28 February 2020 (UTC)

Template filter in What Links Here?[edit source]

Would it be possible to add a feature to the What Links Here page, that allows to filter links in templates? Templates are really great, but I would like to be able to find out whether a specific article is linked in the article itself rather than all the unneccessary template links. Example: In anticipation of Darkmeyer's release I have made a page on the Blisterwood tree. It contains the Trees template, which means that all trees are listed under the whatlinkshere-page. It would be nice to be able to filter that out and leave the more relevant links such as Darkmeyer, Vampyres and for instance let's say Yew tree (if there in the article is a direct mention to the yew tree, if for instance: "The Blisterwood tree yields exactly the same experience as a [yew tree]." That way it would be easier to figure out if important links are missing and should be added. Exaldin (talk) 17:29, 1 March 2020 (UTC)

Your best bet here (afaik) is to scrape the wiki and parse for the links, sadly. A few of us on discord can help out with this though, either with doing one-off searches for you or providing relevant scripts to run if you really need to do it a lot. As of now, the only pages containing the string "blisterwood tree" are the page itself, the tree template, and this page. -Towelcat (talk) 18:32, 1 March 2020 (UTC)
It was just an example to showcase, but thanks anyway. I think I'll just leave it then. Exaldin (talk) 18:36, 1 March 2020 (UTC)

Dark mode css for Module editor[edit source]

top icons css[edit source]

MediaWiki:Gadget-topIcons.css needs css fixed for wikipedia links and meta weird gloop links. I've uploaded a file for weird gloop at File:Weird Gloop logo.svg, the css selector is #ca-nstab-external-link-wg.

#ca-nstab-external-link-wg {
    box-shadow: inset 0 -7px 7px -7px rgba(0,0,0,0.5);
    background: #fff url(filepath://Weird_Gloop_logo.svg) no-repeat center;
    background-size: 40px;
    width: 44px;

#ca-nstab-external-link-wg:hover {
    background-color: #ccc;

#ca-nstab-external-link-wp {
	box-shadow: inset 0 -7px 7px -7px rgba(0,0,0,0.5);
	background: #fff url(// no-repeat center;
    background-size: 30px;
    width: 44px;

#ca-nstab-external-link-wp:hover {
	background-color: #ccc;

this probably looks fine, unless someone wants to make the colors better.

// this
#ca-nstab-external-link-rs a, #ca-nstab-external-link-rsc a, #ca-nstab-external-link-wp a {
	text-align: center;
	color: #ffffff;
// would have to be changed as well
#ca-nstab-external-link-rs a,
#ca-nstab-external-link-rsc a,
#ca-nstab-external-link-wp a,
#ca-nstab-external-link-wg {

Possible error in drop table[edit source]

Level 68 thrower trolls are listed as dropping the troll bone during Rag and Bone Man II with a 1/4 chance. Despite the drop rates being provided by Jagex I believe this drop rate is in error. While I can only gather so much data I have started Rag and Bone Man II and have already gotten other bone drops from that quest. I've killed 50 of the thrower trolls on Trollheim mountain without getting the drop. At a 1/4 drop rate there is a 99.99994% chance to have gotten it by now assuming it is a 1/4 chance.
100 - 100*(0.75^50)
Could someone verify the 1/4 drop rate during the quest?

Thanks for the info. I've looked into the data we have, and some sort of Thrower Troll definitely drops troll bones (we've got 260 samples of this happening), although from this, we can't tell whether that's the level 67 or 68 version, or both. The code we have also points to the thrower trolls dropping the bones, but again, not a lot of information about which precise version. Do you know if the level 67 troll drops the bone? Does the rest of the drop table for the level 68 one look accurate? ʞooɔ 22:31, 11 March 2020 (UTC)
I killed 50 more during the quest to be sure, so a total kc of 100. The only drops I was able to get from that group of trolls were big bones and one instance of a long bone. No coins, runes, gems or any other drop. I think the thrower trolls along that ridge may be in some way separate from others in the game. Moving elsewhere I was able to get the troll bone in two kills from the level 67 thrower trolls on death plateau. Since I am now past that part of the quest I won't really be able to do any further tests for that item. Their drop tables do seem very different from other trolls in the game though.
The approximate location of the trolls, just so it's clear what I'm talking about.

If you have both data from the game and data from players I'd personally try comparing the two. If there is a significant discrepancy it would seem to point to a group of thrower trolls somewhere in the game with differing drop tables from the norm.
Ah, this is interesting. The thrower trolls in Trollheim are actually capitalized differently than the ones in Death Plateau, and have a completely different drop table (or more accurately, they only drop bones/curved bones/long bones). I think we might end up splitting the article. ʞooɔ 02:25, 12 March 2020 (UTC)
