By rescuing his daughter Elena from Plague City, the quarantined West Ardougne, you begin to unravel the mystery surrounding the disease. With her help, you discover the plague is a hoax - a plot by King Lathas to section off the West Ardougne. By confronting him, you find out this was done to protect the rest of Gielinor from the threat in the elven lands.
The king sends you on a mission to travel through the Underground Pass and help his ally, Lord Iorwerth, in eradicating his brother King Tyras who threatens to revive the mysterious Dark Lord. After an arduous journey through the pass, you meet with Iorwerth and his forces to end Tyras' evil once and for all.
Upon your return to Lathas you are intercepted by Arianwyn, a rebel elf who opposes Lord Iorwerth. He informs you of Lathas and Iorwerth's deception. They manipulated you into removing their final opposition and were now free to bring the Dark Lord back to Gielinor for their own intentions. You work with the elven rebellion to discover the purpose of the plague was to disguise the digsite of the long lost Temple of Light. An ancient place that is key to bringing back the Dark Lord.
To make amends for your past mistakes and put a halt in King Lathas' and Lord Iorwerth's plans, you solve the intricate light puzzle designed to protect the Death altar within the temple. After sealing off the temple and preventing the return of the Dark Lord, it's now time to turn your attention to King Lathas Lord Iorwerth and end their schemes once and for all in Song of the Elves.
|21 December 2019||Spineweilder||Great Kourend/Development history||Great Kourend is one of Old School's most unique places. Released on 7 January 2016, it did not always look like the way it did today. Rather, it looked quite unnatural, and was an eyesore of the players until its rework in the same year.
From the initial "too squared" city to the grand kingdom it is today, see how the continent pitched by Mod Reach in 2014 has changed, with the efforts of GentleTractor, Mod West, Mod Ed and many others.
|14 December 2019||Spineweilder||The Fremennik Exiles||The Fremennik bards often sing tales of the past. Of great battles, deadly foes and heroes long gone. |21 September 2019||Scuzzy Beta||Random events||Allow me to set the scene - You're deep in the caves, mining away the day for meagre pay in the form of copper and tin ore in a desperate attempt to support your membership by way of bonds… when suddenly, your pickaxe handle flies off and hits you in the face! Unlucky? Maybe… Random? Certainly! This is a mysterious phenomenon known as a Random Event!
Whether it be the nefarious doings of an evil chicken, or the good deeds of Rick Turpentine, random events almost always gives you an opportunity to break the oftentimes monotonous pacing of everyday skilling. Some, such as the certer may even be helpful to those with the ever-elusive "by-the-way" status, as they may award useful items such as snapdragons. Others may reward unique costumes, to live out your childhood dream as dressing up as a frog in a computer game from 2001. Whatever the case may be, make sure to think long and hard about whether you want to dismiss an event for being a nuisance! Well… maybe don't think too hard about dismissing the beekeeper.
Random events were introduced in 2004 alongside the release of RuneScape 2 as a macroing countermeasure, but have since been superseded by much more advanced and reliable bot detection software. However, due to them being an iconic staple of Old School RuneScape, they remain in the game, albeit with several quality of life fixes, and with some of the more annoying ones removed outright.
|14 September 2019||Scuzzy Beta||Gnome Restaurant #2||Gnome cuisine is well known all over Gielinor for its unusual ingredients and unique flavours. Toad battas and worm crunchies are two of the more popular dishes that most humans turn their noses up at, but for travel-worn gnomes a long way from the Grand Tree, gnomish foods are a sweet taste of home.
Aluft Gianne snr.'s entrepreneurial son, Gianne jnr., has also set up a food delivery business right next to his dad's restaurant. Once trained you will be asked to make and deliver gnome foods to gnomes all over the world. But don't take too long, time is of the essence!
After a more challenging delivery, you may find your customers are so pleased that they will give you an extra special tip - maybe some new gnomish explorer's equipment, or standard issue gnome pilot's clothing!
|7 September 2019||Scuzzy Beta||The Giant Dwarf||A normal steamboat ride through the underground dwarven capital city of Keldagrim takes a turn for the worst when you crash into one of the city's most historic monuments - a giant statue of the great King Alvis.
Arrested by the Black Guard but acquitted due to being a mere passenger, you are released but not before Commander Veldaban requests your assistance in rebuilding the great statue. A task that is easier said than done. First you must find an eligible sculptor, and once you do, you require regalia fit for a king… or at least a model of one. All of this while experiencing the xenophobic behaviours of the dwarves who seldom interact with a human.
As if that wasn't enough, disagreements in the Consortium soon arise regarding who's face deserves to be on the statue. If this isn't solved gracefully, the consequences may be catastrophic. So, with that said… are you still up for the task of rebuilding The Giant Dwarf?
The Giant Dwarf is the first quest in the Rise of the Red Axe Quest series, originally released in May 2005.

|24 August 2019||Scuzzy Beta||Crack the Clue||In the dead of summer, lost in the seldom seen forums, was a post outlined by Mod Ronan, outlining a small update that would become one of the greatest mysteries in Old School RuneScape, and possibly gaming, history - Crack the Clue.

Over a year passes, and the Old School RuneScape community's efforts to find the helmet have proved fruitless. Despite several more clues, and wild conspiracy theories presented by Twitter, Reddit, Forums and so forth, the Helm of Raedwald remained unclaimed… until the dawn of the three hundred seventy seventh day.

|10 August 2019||Scuzzy Beta||Mountain Daughter||West of Death Plateau lay a peaceful tribe of nature loving people whom disagreed with the industry focused ideals of the Fremennik. Despite this, they seem rather hostile to anyone who expresses interest in entering their camp.
When inquiring as to why this may be, Hamal the Cheiftan explains that xenophobia amongst the camp has peaked since a merchant named Svidi, and the cheif's own daughter, Asleif Hamalsdotter, went missing. However, after much debate, he decided that it'd be best for an outsider to look for them.

The guild was founded by Jane, the guildmaster, along with other fellow Hosidius farmers after the Shayzien army cleared out the lizardmen in the surrounding area. Despite the risks of the lizardmen just across River Molch, the discoveries made here, along with the heat coming from Mount Karuulm just north-east, allows the guild to grow flora that would never survive in Great Kourend's climate.

|1 April 2018||Scuzzy Beta||Gnome child||December 12th 2002 brought a wide variety of members only content to the game, including the Tree Gnome Stronghold, home of the Gnome race and their prodigy.
The children of the gnome race recited inspirational quotes to passersby. However, despite being in the game since 2002, the gnome child didn't garner much attention until a Reddit post surfaced on the 21st of June 2014 titled "I love gnomes". (Although references of the gnome child can be traced back as far back as 2013 on 4chan's /vg/ board). It quickly spread from being a niche inside joke of the 2007scape community, into being what can only be described as a "mainstream meme".

|3 March 2018||Spineweilder||Trading post||The trading post is the Grand Exchange's predecessor. Released on 10 December 2014 after over six months of development, it worked much like the Grand Exchange, with the biggest difference being that the trading post was not able to complete offers remotely.
Sellers could also place their items up for sale, and doing so allows their offer to be seen by everyone who searches for the item they're selling. However, the seller was not required to have their Private chat on, causing frustrations for genuine buyers who wished to buy the item from the seller. This, along with other inconveniences, caused Jagex to offer the Grand Exchange less than a month after its release.

As the 100th quest released in the game, it is an ode to the questing content everybody loves about RuneScape - quirky character interactions, dynamic puzzles, and memorable combat encounters are all commonplace in the sequel to the very first quest, Cook's Assistant.
|5 November 2017||Spineweilder||Graphical updates||Graphical updates are updates that change the appearance of non-player characters, monsters, items, chatheads, and animations from one version to another. Platinum tokens may be used to replace money due to the guaranteed exchange rate of 1,000 coins each. This is useful for players who have over the cash limit of 2,147,483,647 coins. It is also used for players who are trading or staking for items that are worth more than the maximum cash. For example, the street value of some item might be around 4 billion coins. Since players cannot hold (and thus trade) 4 billion coins at once, they can instead trade 4 million platinum tokens for the item, or a combination of coins and tokens to equal the amount.
