One Small Wiki Favour is a project to improve the OSRS Wiki, where wiki users can contribute to a number of ongoing wiki tasks and qualify for receiving in-game rewards, including bonds. Anyone is welcome to participate, whether you're completely new to the wiki or you've been here for a while. If you have not edited before, then this is a great time to get involved!

To participate in this project, take a look at the tasks below and find one that looks exciting -- completing any one of them will earn you a share of a bond. Each task has some advice on how to effectively tackle it, but we strongly recommend joining the #one-small-wiki-favour channel in our Discord to coordinate with other editors, discuss the project, and claim your rewards.

Tasks

These specific tasks will be active until 9 June, or until someone finishes them.

If you have completed a goal please pop onto Discord and ask one of the wiki admins to check your contributions and award you a bond. If you have done work on a goal but not managed to complete it fully by the end of the week, you may still be rewarded some coins for your work.

Item spawn locations exploration

Task: Visit a bunch of missing locations in-game with our modified client that logs the location of item spawns.

This task is now substantially complete! Thanks to everyone for helping. We'll have similar map exploration projects in the future.

Task Coordinator: Cook Me Plox

We're starting a new project that will standardize information about item spawns, with interactive maps and exact locations. See this page for a demo of what this will look like -- we think this will be extremely useful for the ironman community.

We still need to gather more information about the spawn locations. We've created a modified RuneLite client with a plugin that logs the location and amount of any items found on the ground, within about 30 tiles of where you're standing. We need someone to run around the missing parts of the game (at this point mainly dungeons, and first/second/third floors of buildings, to get the remainder of the item spawns. We expect this will be 2-3 hours of running around the game.

If this sounds interesting to you, ping @Cook#2222 in the #one-small-wiki-favour, and we can share the client and a map of the missing areas.

Community Event Pages

Task: Create pages covering historical community events in OSRS's history

Task Coordinator: BigDiesel

The wiki has great information about almost everything in the game, but when it comes to events outside of the game, our coverage is lacking. To complete this task, create comprehensive pages for the following four community events in OSRS's history:

Pages should include a description of the event itself, any relevant background information about the competition, quality images of the event (if available), and a summary of the event results. For an example of an adequate community event page, see Jagex Clan Cup 2014. The pages for this task should aim to exceed the quality of that page, especially in cases of recent events where more information and references are readily available.

Gnome Restaurant loot tables

Task: Fill out and format the loot tables for Gnome Restaurant tips on the 20 hard NPC articles.

This task is complete now! There may be more work done in the future to better improve our coverage of this minigame, so stay tuned!

Task Coordinators: BigDiesel, Cook Me Plox

The wiki's coverage of Gnome Restaurant is lacking in a lot of areas. This project is to make the loot tables on the hard order NPCs be correct, and formatted nicely.

Each of the NPCs listed has their own loot table, which is spelled out in part on the Gnome Restaurant page. Make it so each of the 20 hard gnomes have a loot section (example: Wingstone) that uses the {{DropsLineReward}} template, and has correct loot (not just what's listed on the NPC article already, as this is often incorrect). Please also add the {{Gnome Restaurant}} navbox to the bottom of each of the gnome articles.

Portal articles

Task: Create pages for 20 "portal" scenery objects

Task Coordinators: Demilancer, BigDiesel, Cook Me Plox

There are tons of various portals in game, and our current catch-all Portal page doesn't do nearly enough to cover all of them. To complete this task, make pages for the following Portal scenery objects. For a reference in regards to object IDs, see MOOD.

Each portal page should be properly templated, have a brief description of the portal and its functionality, and have a high quality image sourced from either MOOD or this image dump. Pages should meet or exceed the quality of the existing Clan Cup portal page, which can be used as an example for more portal pages.

Update history

Task: Add patch notes from 10 different updates to relevant pages.

Task Coordinators: BigDiesel, Jakesterwars

We recently started highlighting changes to OSRS on specific pages, in a new "Changes" section near the bottom of the page. (See Vorkath for an example) This project aims to extend that change coverage to older updates over the last six years of OSRS, by going through each update and adding the changes made to all relevant pages.

The main page for this project can be found here, including a list of updates to work on and instructions on how to contribute. There is also a dedicated #update-history channel on our Discord, for discussion and advice on the project.

To complete this task, add all the changes from 10 of the following updates to all relevant pages:

Once you've completed an update, mark it off here and on the project page, so we can stay organized and keep track of what's been done.
