RuneScape:Requests for adminship/Jakesterwars
Hi everyone. I'd like to take this time to nominate one of our most active power-users for adminship.
From what I've seen, Jakesterwars has proven himself ten times over to be a trustworthy user with great judgement. He partakes in several high-maintenance projects, a lot of which could positively benefit from the ability to delete pages and files. Additionally, he has proven that he can handle these tools and the responsibility that comes with them. For these reasons, I believe that Jakesterwars will make a fantastic addition to the Old School RuneScape Wiki administration team.
I, Jakesterwars, accept this nomination for adminship. I have read the policies concerning administrators. I realise that this nomination may fail. If I do get community consensus, I promise not to abuse my tools because I realise that this is a serious offence. If the community finds that I have done so, my tools will be revoked, and in extreme cases I could be given a community ban. Signed, Jakesterwars (talk) 00:04, 27 July 2019 (UTC)
Questions for the nominee
1. What administrative work do you intend to take part in?
I plan on continuing work on the drop log project and working on the current overhaul of skill related pages (Construction currently ongoing) to make them better to view. I will work on vandalism control since I would be able to block vandals more readily when I find them while reverting harmful behavior.
2. What have been your most helpful contributions to the Old School RuneScape Wiki, and why?
Level up tables - Introduced a single point of entry to see what levels grant what for each skill without clogging up the main skill page.
Drop log project - Pretty self explanatory working alongside Cook, Gau, Demi, and others to bring the new rarity calculations into the mainspaces.
Construction overhaul (WIP) - Alongside Crow for the materials portion, but I added all the hotspot pages that didn't exist (still don't on RSW so I may end up porting over majority to that space as well over time). This will continue on to Crafting, Smithing, and more over time to bring pages to a more enjoyable viewing manner.
3. Have you been in any conflicts over editing in the past or have other users caused you stress? How have you dealt with it and how will you deal with it in the future?
Only conflicts would be the use of tabbers, except it was more of a "don't use them" sort of thing. I just don't use them anymore unless it's a joke on a personal userpage to bug IN008.
Additional questions (asked by the community if necessary)
Support - As nominator. - 23:21, 26 July 2019 (UTC)
Support — Good contributions and behavior. Being pinged quite a few times in #recent-changes-osrs to notify an online admin of ongoing vandalism or something of the sort shows a use for the tools. I don't see any issues with him being an admin. --laagone talk 23:56, 26 July 2019 (UTC)
