RuneScape:Requests for adminship/Joeytje50
A while back, I got a message on my talk page regarding Forum:Retroactive RFAs, that my bureaucrat status would be removed due to every admin requiring an actual successful nomination. At that time, however, I was (almost) completely inactive on the wiki, so I decided at a time it would be completely pointless to run for admin just to be able to keep my fancy title or something, so I decided against creating a RfA right then. Recently, though (specifically starting around the start of Trailblazer League), I started playing RS very actively again, which also boosted my activity on the wiki again. I got back by mostly doing some routine editing, which didn't necessarily require admin tools, so I saw no direct need to apply yet. However, with becoming more active again I also started getting more involved with some behind the scenes stuff, and because of that, and because of the encouragement of some people in Discord, I decided to create this nomination, so that I won't have to bother admins to do things I would be able to do myself.
In the time between the Retroactive RFAs thread and now, I have had a couple of situations where I had to request admins to change things in protected pages. I could probably try to dig up a full list of changes I requested admins to make, but to name just two examples: I've requested creating MediaWiki:Gadget-audioplayer.js and MediaWiki:Gadget-audioplayer.css for use on the Music page, and these two changes to make Skill Clickpics findable through ctrl+F.
For full disclosure, I cannot guarantee being active for consecutive years after this point, but for now I do plan on being fairly active again for at least some months. It could just be that in half a year or so, I might have to put the wiki on a bit of a lower priority again due to my real life. That being said, though, I think that in the meantime, I will be able to use admin tools quite well. And in the wise words of someone on the internet I don't know: "You never really quit RuneScape [Wiki], you can only take long breaks." so even if I have to take some time off for IRL stuff, I'm convinced I'll be back to this wiki some time later again.
I, Joeytje50, accept this nomination for administratorship. I have read the policies concerning administrators. I realise that this nomination may fail. If I do get community consensus, I promise not to abuse my tools because I realise that this is a serious offence. If the community finds that I have done so, my tools will be revoked, and in extreme cases I could be given a community ban. Signed, Joeytje50 (talk) 05:57, 2 January 2021 (UTC).
Questions for the nominee
1. What work do you intend to take part in?
I would mostly use admin tools for the technical aspect of things. I don't expect to be active in counter-vandalism or blocking users, but I do expect (partially from experience) to be able to contribute well in the MediaWiki: namespace and editing high-use templates or modules.
2. What have been your most helpful contributions to the Old School RuneScape Wiki, and why?
I was part of the team that worked hard at the creation of this wiki back in 2013, to help set up the wiki after the pages had been imported from the main RS Wiki. I was also the one to get the Wikifarm-that-shall-not-be-named to move this wiki to the
2007. prefix of the main rswiki's domain, which at the time seemed like a good location because there were no plans to update osrs to be anything other than 2007scape. In the time after that, I've contributed to the wiki with just regular fixes to pages, but also through a bunch of the technical aspects of the wiki. In my nom message I specify two of these contributions I made by proxy.
3. Have you been in any conflicts over editing in the past or have other users caused you stress? How have you dealt with it and how will you deal with it in the future?
In the past half-decade or so I haven't had any significant conflicts I can think of with any wiki users. However if someone would tell me rs3 is better than osrs I'd fight him in the wildy for sure. No you shut up.

Support - Wow cmon guys you gotta set a good example for future RfAs. Joey has been a trusted person for many years and has a lot of protected-ish pages he'll probably frequently edit. It arguably helps that he created the wiki too. ʞooɔ 08:44, 6 January 2021 (UTC)
Support - Concluding a rigorious analysis of your previous edits and experience with the wiki, I find that it is appropriate for you to acquire admin permissions at this time. Legaia2Pla ᴛ · ʟ · ᴄ 11:22, 6 January 2021 (UTC)
Closure - Unfortunately it has come to light that Jeoytje50 was found conspiring with far-right organisations and was involved in inciting the terrible events that happened at the US Capitol Building earlier this Wednesday. With this in mind, it is with unfortunate regret that this RfA will not result in Jeoytje50 becoming an admin, and will instead be permanently blocked from all Weird Gloop websites.
