The runescroll of swampbark is a scroll obtained from chests within the Shade Catacombs. Higher tier chests give a higher chance of obtaining the item, as well as wearing a ring of wealth. Reading the scroll unlocks the ability to craft swampbark armour from splitbark armour.

When reading the scroll, the player is prompted to confirm whether they wish to learn from the scroll, and doing so will result in the chatbox message stating "Reading through the scroll reveals the secret to infusing Splitbark armour with Nature runes at a Nature Altar to create Swampbark armour!" Once the player reads the scroll, the chatbox message will state "As you close the scroll it starts to disintegrate in your hands."

If players attempt to read a scroll after unlocking the ability to make swampbark armour, the chatbox message will state "You've already gained the knowledge to infuse Splitbark armour with Nature runes."
