Sharks are a type of fish that can be obtained by cooking a raw shark on a fire or cooking range, requiring level 80 Cooking and granting 210 experience when successful. Players may burn a shark while cooking one, resulting in a burnt shark; the burn rate while cooking these will decrease as players reach higher Cooking levels. Sharks do not stop burning on normal ranges and fires at level 99, unless if the player is wearing the Cooking cape.
Sharks are fished with harpoons which requires 76 Fishing, but they can also be fished barehanded, which requires level 96 Fishing, level 76 Strength, and partial completion of Barbarian Training. Raw sharks can be caught at most net/harpoon fishing spots; some locations include the Fishing Guild, Catherby, and Burgh de Rott.
Sharks are a popular food item in Old School RuneScape, as they are high-healing (20 Hitpoints) and can be easily caught in large amounts. Because of this sharks are widely used for player killing, general monster killing and quests.
