Abyssal demons can be assigned as a slayer task at level 85 Slayer and level 85 combat by various slayer masters. They are found in the Abyssal Area, the Slayer Tower, and the Catacombs of Kourend.

Abyssal demons attack with melee, but are capable of teleporting next to their target making safespots impossible. Whenever they teleport the player will stop attacking it thus having Auto Retaliate on is useful. As demons they are weak to demonbane weapons.

With completion of A Kingdom Divided and 90 magic (and Dragon Slayer II for Ironman accounts for a supply of Wrath runes) abyssal demons can be a strong source of prayer experience. By using Master Reanimation on all Ensouled abyssal heads and Demonic Offering on all Abyssal ashes, abyssal demon kills will be worth on average 307 prayer experience - more than double their base slayer experience. Unlike many other tasks with strong prayer experience potential, the optimum prayer experience from abyssal demons can be achieved without leaving the area.

While the Abyssal Sire can be killed in place of abyssal demons, it is only recommended for those seeking the abyssal orphan pet or abyssal bludgeon as kill times are very slow and completing tasks exclusively at the boss would take too long.
