Pyrefiends can be assigned as a Slayer task at level 30 Slayer and level 25 combat.

Pyrefiends attack with magic-based melee, meaning armour that provides magic defense should be worn or Protect from Melee should be used with Prayer equipment, alternatively Prayer flick.

Safespots

Safespots can be done with Ranged or Magic attacks, or a halberd. Pyrelords can be Safespotted shown below, by putting a tree between the player and a pyrelord. Because pyrefiends are 1x1 size monsters, they cannot easily be safespotted, unlike 2x2 pyrelords, and require obstacles that can be attacked over or pathing the pyrefiend to a safespot. They can also be flinched while taking minimal damage.

Players can safespot multiple Pyrefiends by standing in this spot in the Fremennik Slayer Dungeon.

Players can safespot Pyrelords by putting a tree in front of them and the Pyrelord.
