Red Dragons can be assigned as a Slayer task after unlocking Seeing red for 50 Slayer reward points and requiring partial completion of Dragon Slayer I to receive the Anti-dragon shield.

Protection from Dragonfire is required if fighting dragons in melee. Protection may not be necessary if safespotting non-brutal versions of these dragons, however may be useful when running past dragons and collecting loot.

Brutal dragons can be killed from a distance without any taking damage, using any kind of Antifire potion with Protect from Magic, to negate damage from their long-ranged dragonfire and magic attacks.
