The spectral spirit shield is a shield which requires 75 Defence, 70 Prayer and 65 Magic to wield. The shield is made by attaching a Spectral sigil, a rare drop from the Corporeal Beast, to a blessed spirit shield. This process requires 90 Prayer and 85 Smithing. Players without the required skill levels to create the shield may ask Abbot Langley in the Edgeville Monastery to combine the sigil and the blessed spirit shield, for a fee of 1,500,000 coins. It has the highest Magic defence bonus of any shield in the game.
This shield's melee and ranged defensive bonuses are identical to the blessed spirit shield, but it has a significantly higher magic defence bonus of +30. The spectral spirit shield's counterpart, the arcane spirit shield, instead provides a magic attack bonus of +20. The spectral spirit shield also has a unique passive effect.

The spectral spirit shield reduces the effectiveness of all prayer draining attacks (outside of PvP encounters) by 50%. For example, Summoned Souls during the Cerberus fight will only drain 15 Prayer points when the shield is equipped instead of 30. This effect does not work against other players.
When worn against Spinolyps' magic attack and the Kalphite Queen's ranged attack, one point of prayer is drained 50% of the time on average.

|The spectral spirit shield, along with the others, was made slightly clearer in-game. Female characters also now have their own unique model, reducing the distance between the shields and their bodies.
