The stake is a quest item used in the Vampyre Slayer quest. This item is obtained by talking to Dr Harlow at the Blue Moon Inn in Varrock. The player must use the stake, along with a hammer, to kill Count Draynor.

Duplicates can be obtained with the drop trick and offering another beer to Dr Harlow. All duplicates must be dropped before killing Count Draynor, if the player wishes to keep them after the quest. Any duplicates that are not dropped will be destroyed.

• In RuneScape Classic, it was possible to wield this item as a weapon. Its appearance resembled that of a bronze longsword but its stats were weaker than a bronze dagger.
• Count Draynor is the only vampyre that is killed using a stake.
