A steak sandwich is a food item that heals 6 Hitpoints, created by combining bread and cooked meat using a knife. It is first created during Below Ice Mountain, after learning the recipe from the cook in the Blue Moon Inn near Varrock's south gate. More sandwiches can be made during and after the quest. If the player has not yet given a sandwich to Marley, there will be a confirmation dialogue if the player tries to eat it.

If the player uses the knife on the bread but has not yet learned the recipe, but has started the Freeing Pirate Pete subquest of Recipe For Disaster, they will turn the bread into breadcrumbs instead of making a sandwich.
