Talk:Cat training medal
I only saw the notifications for 10, 50 and 100 rat kills. Can someone double check if they still do 25 and 75? Thanks
Release date[edit source]
Having a hard time finding an exact source on this one. It was not in RS1. Earliest I can find a mention of it cached on the web archive is 2005-02-04, before Rat Catchers. Never mentioned in a news post. I can only assume it came out at RS2 launch unless someone can find a better source. -- Xell Khaar (talk) 09:35, 26 February 2020 (UTC)
Reclaiming the medal[edit source]
When you trade the cat training medal to another player, there is no way to reclaim it from Gertrude, it will be lost forever. The wiki does not say anything about this.
Why is this item tradeable? 2A02:1811:EC11:6200:388B:ADF9:8331:F0CF 20:29, 10 November 2020 (UTC)
- As far as I'm aware, you can only get one cat training medal per account. As for why it isn't on the page, I would guess it's because there isn't confirmation that this is the case or because a lack of a mention about reclaiming was meant to indicate that you cannot reclaim it. It'd probably be a good thing to add to the page until a way to get another is found (if there is one). Could be that you can get one per cat if you lose all of your cats after getting the medal since you initially were not supposed to have multiple cats. As for why it's tradeable, only the devs would know that. It was actually made untradeable in RS3 due to scamming. Andmcadams (talk) 20:44, 10 November 2020 (UTC)
Can't reclaim after cat evolved[edit source]
There seems to be a problem with reclaiming the medal after the cat has evolved.
I've gotten the medal with a regular Hellcat. However my cat is now a Wily hellcat, and after I drop or trade the item to another player, there's no way to reclaim the medal anymore. Gertrude doesn't give you the option.
I just killed 100 normal rats with my wily hellcat and I can't get the necklace.[edit source]
Edit: You can only get it using a normal kitten or cat. Wily cats do not work. There is only a notification on kill 10, 50, and 100. Nothing on 25 and 75. I spent an entire 2 and a half hours to get this with a kitten. I recommend growing it into a regular cat first. Kittens have a 10% catch rate while grown cats have a 50% catch rate. I want to fucking alch myself. Charichard08 (talk) 23:57, 6 June 2021 (UTC)
